GENERIC LETTER 83-28 The staff and its consultant, Science Applications International, have com-pleted the review of your submittal made in response to Item 1.1 of Generic Letter 83-28, Post Trip Review.

The results of our review are contained in the enclosed draft safety evaluation.

We find that we require additional information in the following areas:

1.

The criteria for determining the acceptability of the restart.

2.

The method and criteria for comparing the event with expected plant performance.

3.

The criteria for determining the need for independent assessment of the event following a trip.

4.

The minimum required information that must be included in the procedures submitted.

These areas are discussed in greater detail in Section III of the draft safety evaluation.

You are requested to respond to this request within 30 days of receipt of this letter or provide the NRC project manager with a response date you can accom-modate.
