Dear Mr. Lear:
In a January 14, 1977 letter, Niagara Mohawk provided justi-fication for core spray cooling coefficients used for emergency core cooling analysis for Nine Mile Point Unit l.
In that letter, it was stated that Niagara Mohawk would evaluate the need to more precisely quantify the margins inherent in our core spray system.
This evaluation has been completed.
Based upon information provided in the January 14, 1977 letter, it has been determined that the spray cooling coefficient margins characteristic to the core spray system are substantial and do not require further quanti-fication.
Therefore, Niagara Mohawk does not plan to do additional analyses and/or tests to further support core spray cooling co-efficients currently assumed in Nine Mile Point Unit 1 emergency core cooling analyses.
