- NON EMERGENCY "On May 18, 2013, during snorkel inspection of plant's intake canal, a large sub-adult loggerhead sea turtle's skeleton was identified. Turtle was most likely entrained post-mortem. After consultation with Fish and Wildlife Commission, it has been determined that this incident is NOT causal to plant operation.
"Per the plant's turtle permit, the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWCC) was notified at 1721 EDT. This nonemergency notification is being made pursuant to 10CFR50.72(b)(2)(xi) due to the notification of the FWCC."
The licensee notified the NRC Resident Inspector.
Notified the R2DO (Bartley) and Endangered Species Group via email.
