RE: Salem and Hope Creek LRAs -- Status of aquatic ecology sections Sounds good. By the way, their Chapter 4 stuff is looking much better than their chapter 4 stuff.

RE: Salem and Hope Creek LRAs - Status of aquatic ecology sections You and I need to talk Tuesday morning. Charles is setting up a call with AECOM on Tuesday.

Salem and Hope Creek LRAs - Status of aquatic ecology sections

Andy, I just wanted to update you on aquatic ecology sections for Hope Creek and Salem LRAs.

I got the Chapters 2 and 4 from Charles later yesterday afternoon to review. He said they were the latest drafts. This morning as I went through Chapter 2, it looked like the rough first draft I had reviewed earlier and had sent comments down to AECOM to address. After some time figuring out what was going on and calls to AECOM (both Steve Duda and Nichole Spangler are out: I ended up talking to Steve Dillard), I found out that /

they are still in the process of writing new sections and will be working on the first drafts until they have drafts of everything. They will work on my previous comments, editing, etc. afterward.

Dillard said that the Chapter 4 sections I have should be considered. early, unedited first drafts, and I will review them as such. He is working on the Biological Assessment and the EFH Assessment and we should have them tomorrow or early next weak. Those 2ire probably the last aquatic ecology sections in rough first draft. I also see some areas that have not yet been addressed that will require drafting.

Even when we have all the drafts, they are all rough and unedited and some places I will need to talk with AECOM about the big things--like our approach and line of thought-that can affect content and structure.

Dillard and I talked about the utility of having me come down to AECOM and work with them the first week of August as planned. I will reserve judgment until next week because I am not convinced that we are far enough along for that, though I think we (Duda, Dillard, and I) will have to get together.

Bottom Line: I believe that the project is much farther behind than Charles thinks it is. And I don't think he appreciates that the sections he has are early drafts and might be considered "placeholders" for finished sections.
