SEntergy Indian Point Energy Center Status Report July 5, 2006 Operational Status IP2 is currently at 100% reactor power; the unit has been on line for s9 days and Unit 3 is operating at 100% reactor power and has been on-line for t65 days.

Groundwater Investigation Entergy has received sample data from monitoring wells located south and west of Unit 1. These wells were tested as part of the groundwater investigation into the extent of contamination at Indian Point.

_ 61' 1.2 1710 These sample results are consistent with previously reported Entergy results and are consistent with Unit 1 being the source of Sr-90 in groundwater although additional water sampling and other analysis techniques such as soil samples will be done to further evaluate the results above. Entergy is also conducting a review of previous contamination events in these areas and historic use of the areas as a possible cause for the presence of strontium 90.

-Enlergy, Unit 1 Demineralizer System Entergy has been utilizing an enhanced dimineralizer system in the Unit 1 spent fuel pool to lower the concentration of Strontium-90 in the pool. Since March 2006 the overall concentration of Sr-90 in the Unit 1 pool has decreased by about 77%.
