Ginna Nuclear Power Plant Docket No. 50-244 Demand for Information: Extension Request Under cover of letters from you dated December 2, 2005, we received a "Demand for Information" pertaining to Calvert Cliffs Nuclear Power Plant, Nine Mile Point Nuclear Station, Unit 1, Nine Mile Point Nuclear Station, Unit 2 and R. E. Ginna Nuclear Power Plant. Pursuant to your letter, we are required to file an answer, under oath or affirmation, within thirty-five days; i.e., on or before January 6, 2006.
Developing responses to the Demand for Information will require the collection of information from, and verification by, numerous sources, as well as analyses. This, coupled with the intervening holidays, will make compliance with the schedule extremely difficult. Accordingly, we request an additional two weeks within which to respond; i.e., to January 20, 2006. Grant of the extension of time will not delay the substantive adoption of strategies and, therefore, have no adverse impact on safety. In addition, efforts directed at identifying additional strategies under ongoing Phase 3 activities will not be affected.
