SALEM EMERGENCY AC (EAC) MARGIN COMMITMENTS Salem Generator Station (Salem) personnel performed a root cause as a result of the 4Q07 Salem Unit I EAC Mitigating Systems Performance Index (MSPI)
YELLOW indicator. The analysis concluded that while the Salem EAC system currently meets all required licensing and regulatory requirements, modifications to decrease the risk significance contribution of the Emergency Diesel Generators (EDGs) would be prudent.
Our-preliminary engineering analysis shows that providing alternate auxiliary power source(s) to the 500kV switchyard controls and support systems will reduce the risk significance of the EDGs. PSEG will implement the modification by December 31, 2009.
Attachment I contains a list of commitments. Attachment 2 provides a list of milestones.
