St. Lucie Unit 2 Docket No. 50-389 Updated Final Safety Analysis Report Amendment No. 18 Pursuant to 10 CFR 50.71(e), Florida Power & Light Company (FPL) has completed its revision to the St. Lucie Unit 2 Updated Final Safety Analysis Report (UFSAR). FPL's revision of Amendment 18 is consistent with the guidance described in the Nuclear Energy Institute (NEI) 98-03, Revision 1.
In addition, this submittal forwards only drawings that have been updated during the report period.
The enclosed information accurately presents changes made since the previous submittal, necessary to reflect information and analyses submitted to the Commission, or prepared pursuant to Commission requirements. This amendment includes activities completed through January 4, 2008.
A brief description and summary of the 10 CFR 50.59 safety evaluations of changes, tests, and experiments reportable pursuant to 10 CFR 50.59 is being submitted under separate cover.

JANUARY 2008 FILING INSTRUCTIONS Pursuant to Title 10, Code of Federal Regulation, Part 50.71, Amendment No.
18 of the Updated Final Safety Analysis Report (UFSAR) for St. Lucie Unit 2 is submitted with the following replacement pages which brings the UFSAR up to date as of January 4, 2008.
Revisions have been generated as a result of documentation reviews.
The List of Effective Pages reflects those pages that have been revised.
Each.revised and new page bears the notation "Amendment No.
18 (01/08)"
in the right-hand bottom corner of the page. Vertical bars have been used in the margin of existing pages, as applicable, to indicate the location of the revision(s) on that page or for the insertion of a new page.
Vertical bars may not have been used on pages which required minor and/or typographical corrections, or on figures.
The following page removals, insertions and replacements should be made to incorporate Revision No.
18 in the UFSAR.
