CR-3 to NRC letter.3F0907-05, dated September 13, 2007, "Crystal River Unit 3 -
Relief Request #07-003-RR, Revision 1, and Response to Request for Additional Information"
Dear Sir:
In the above referenced letter, Florida Power Corporation (FPC), doing business as Progress Energy Florida, Inc., made a regulatory commitment to notify the NRC, as soon as practical, if any cracks were detected during the mitigation of pressurizer Alloy 600/82/182 butt welds that exceed the preservice examination acceptance standards of ASME Code Section Xl, Table IWB-3514-2, during Crystal River Unit 3 (CR-3) Refueling Outage 15. That notification was to be made prior to entering Mode 4 during restart from Refueling Outage 15.
On November 29, 2007, the CR-3 Acting Supervisor, Licensing & Regulatory Programs, notified the NRC NRR Project Manager for CR-3 that no cracks were detected during the mitigation of the pressurizer Alloy 600/82/182 butt welds that exceed the preservice examination acceptance standards of ASME Code Section Xl, Table IWB-3514-2. Operational Mode 4 entry is currently scheduled for December 1, 2007. This letter documents completion of the subject regulatory commitment.
This submittal contains no new regulatory commitments.
If you have any questions regarding this submittal, please contact Mr. Dennis Herrin, Acting Supervisor, Licensing and Regulatory Programs at (352) 563-4633.
