Subject: Docket No. 50-361 30-Day Report Licensee Event Report No.82-105 San Onof re Nuclear Generating Station,. Unit 2 Pursuant to Section 6.9.1.13b of Appendix A, Technical Specifications to Operating License NPF-10, for San Onofre Unit 2, this submittal provides the required 30-dey written report and copy of Licensee Event Report

( LER) for an occurrence involving the Auxillary Feedwater ( AFW) Systs.

Limiting Condition for Operation (LCO) 3.7.1.2 requires three independent steam generator auxiliary f eedwater pumps and associated flow paths to be operable in Modes 1, 2 and 3.

On August 31,1982 at 1125 while in Mode 2, the motor-driven AFW pump 2P-504 was declared inoperable and LCO 3.7.1.2 Action Statement a was entered. The Action Statement requires the inoperable AFW Train to be returned to service within 72 hours8.333333e-4 days <br />0.02 hours <br />1.190476e-4 weeks <br />2.7396e-5 months <br /> or cooldown must be initiated.

Pump 2P-504 was taken out of service because of the discovery of a !eaky threaded plug on the pump discharge casing. Corrective action included cleaning of the threads, applying graf foil and reinstalling the plug.

The pump was returned to service on September 1,1982, thus satisfying LCO 3.7.1.2.
