OTHER Specify in Abstract below or in Page 3 of 3 Safety Significance of the Event The EDGs are required for accident mitigation and safe shutdown during loss of offsite power (LOOP) scenarios. During the time period of assumed inoperability, Offsite power remained available, and the St. Lucie station blackout (SBO) crosstie remained operable, so the Unit 2 EDGs were available if needed. Based on the diverse methods for supplying alternating current (AC) power at the site, this condition had no major impact on the health and safety of the public.
Corrective Actions
- 1. The 1B2 engine was repaired, inspections were completed satisfactorily on the 1B1 engine, and the 1B EDG was returned to service.
- 2. Extent of conditions inspections for potentially affected EDGs are scheduled.
