Electrical Distribution System -- No. 22 CSD Breaker - Unidentified Trip.

This report was initiated by Incident Report 81-301.

CONDITIONS PRIOR TO OCCURRENCE:

Mode 1 - Rx Power 75% - Unit Load 760 MWe DESCRIPTION OF OCCURRENCE:

On August 3, 1981, No. 22 CSD breaker tripped from an unidentified

cause

There were no indicating flags showing on the relays.

No. 21 CSD breaker was closed. manually.

Action statement 3.8.2.1.a was entered at 1533 hours0.0177 days <br />0.426 hours <br />0.00253 weeks <br />5.833065e-4 months <br />, August 3, 1981.

This occurrence constituted operation in a degraded mode in accord-ance with technical specification 6.9.1.9.b.

DESIGNATION OF APPARENT CAUSE OF OCCURRENCE:

The cause of this breaker trip, and previously reported ones, is still uadetermin;d.

It is suspected that the cause of this is in the safe-guards equipment cabinet (SEC).

As was previously stated, all possible trouble areas are being thoroughly investigated.

CORRECTIVE ACTION

The cause of the breaker trip is still under investigation.

The immediate corrective action was to manually close the No. 21 CSD breaker.

A supplemental report will be issued when the investigation is completed.
