Pursuant to Section 6.9.1.12.i of Appendix A of the Technical Specifications to the Diablo Canyon Unit 1 Operating Lictn u, the enclosed Revision I to Licensee Event Report 81-005/0lX-1 is submittd regarding the discovery of cracks in several cells of the station battery.

This revision explains the cause of failure and the corrective actions being taken.

This incident has in no way affected the safety and health of the public.
